Joanne Scanlan
House Manager
Joanne has a long history with Community Houses.
Details/background
Joanne’s connection to community houses began over 23 years ago when she had her first child and wanted a way to connect with her community after many years of working full time. From that first meeting Joanne discovered the importance of community houses for all, and how they were so much more than just somewhere to have a cuppa.
In Joanne’s words “they are the heart of the community where people are given the opportunity to connect and feel safe. They provide the opportunity for lifelong learning and friendships in a relaxed environment.”
Away from work at the House, Joanne and her husband Tim enjoy spending time with their 5 adult children, and now are very proud grandparents of currently 5 grandbabies with hopefully more to come. They also enjoy trying different cafes, socialising with friends and getting away in their caravan with Reggie their four legged Jack Russell.
