Glenn Kruithoff

President

Glenn is a Chartered Accountant who began his career at KPMG then non-profit and health sectors.

Details/background

For the past 20 years Glenn has worked at a senior and executive level supporting charitable organisations in over 20 countries including the Big Issue and the Royal Deaf Society of Victoria (now Expression Australia), and currently works as the CFO for Quantum Support Services in Regional Victoria.  He holds a Masters in Business Administration, post-graduate qualifications in Counselling Practice and Psychology, and is currently undertaking a Doctorate of Business Administration.  Glenn has worked as a consultant and representative for the Non-Profit industry to governments and the commercial sector for many years, most recently as the international delegate for charitable investors for the sale of Virgin Airlines.  He was also recently named the President of Rye Community House.

Glenn is married and he and his wife Michelle have 6 kids between them, 5 of them girls, and they live in the SE suburbs of Melbourne.

Christopher Greig

Vice President

Chris has an international background in technology and communication sectors.

Details/background

He is an experienced non executive board director, has represented Industry groups and has been a mentor for Leadership Victoria with a special focus on helping new migrants settle into work in Australia. Chris has been a permanent resident in Rye for over 6 years now, he balances his time between a principal at B2B-Relevance and, where he can, helping his wife’s holiday business.

 

Marg D’Arcy

House Manager

Marg has an extensive background in Child and Family Services.

Details/background

Marg joined Rye Community House as Manager in May 2021, interrupting her retirement to get back into the workforce. Her career included managing Child and Family Services for EACH and setting up Early Childhood Early Intervention programs in Qld, NSW and the ACT in partnership with the NDIS. Marg held a number of positions in the prevention of violence against women and children, working at the grassroots in a women’s refuge, managing CASA House, the Centre Against Sexual Violence at the Royal Women’s Hospital and setting up the Family Violence Project Office for Victoria Police. Marg loves to explore walks around the Peninsula with her dog Jac, swim in the sea when the weather allows and support the local winemakers.

Gareth James

Secretary

Gareth has an extensive background in the hospitality and healthcare support services.

Details/background

A Senior Manager in the NFP sector, he also drives his own boutique hospitality consultancy firm, is an active volunteer mentor and student, completing his Masters in Sustainability. An avid traveler, he fell in love with the Mornington Peninsula, and it soon became home. He is passionate about community, sustainability and driving shared value. He can often be found enjoying the coastal walks, wineries and bespoke eateries with his wife and young family.

 

Marlene Fox

Board Member

Marlene is an experienced leader and specialist in early childhood education and care and intervention.

Details/background

Marlene has held positions in the NFP sector including two as a CEO and worked in local and state government and charity organisations. She has a strong commitment to participating and contributing as a non executive volunteer member taking leadership roles as a Deputy Board Chair, Board Chair & as a State President in a Peak Body. Marlene has been a Mornington Peninsula resident for over 25 years.

Chris Samartzis

Board Member

Chris has had a long career in small business and in executive administration.

Details/background

Chris is currently the CEO of Master Pool Builders Association Australia. He has had a long career in small business and in executive administration. He has owned and operated several businesses in the hospitality and retail sectors and he has led organisations, whilst providing transformational opportunities to members in challenging environments. Chris provides balance between strategic thought and operational activities and is known for his leadership impact as an advocate for incremental innovation.

Chris has been a Non-Executive Director of VANA Ltd, Australian Lotteries and Newsagents Association and Newspower Australia. He also is a committee member of Standards Australia, a member of the RMIT VE Industry Advisory Committee and sits on a range of working committees that are aligned with Federal and State lobbying.
