Rye Community Garden

Join us in growing a sustainable future. Our garden is a place where community thrives, friendships bloom, and fresh produce is just a seed away.

Our Mission and Vision

At Rye Community House, our mission is to foster a vibrant and inclusive community through the shared joy of gardening. We envision a space where everyone, regardless of background, can come together to learn, grow, and share the bounty of nature. Our community garden is a testament to the power of collective effort and sustainable living.

Located off Lyons street, within the community grow and play gardens, we are planting a variety of plants including bush food and herbs, sourced from generous donations including from the native plant nurseries at Briars and Willum Warrain.

Efficient Water Management with Wicking Beds

Wicking beds are an innovative solution for water conservation in our community garden. These self-watering garden beds use a reservoir system to ensure plants receive consistent moisture, reducing water waste and promoting healthy growth. By utilizing wicking beds, we can create a sustainable gardening environment that supports our community’s commitment to eco-friendly practices.
